“Rear-wheel drive Huracán Spyder: Open-top’s frenzy.”
“Keeping people’s attention on the house of the bull.”
“Visually eye-catching, extremely powerful, and exceptionally exciting to drive.”
“Pleasurable driving event to test all Lamborghini Huracáns variants in Oman.”
“Outstanding aerodynamics for supreme open-top driving comfort.”
Lamborghini will never leave you bored, so new variants from each model are launched now and then to keep us wide awake. Two years ago in Doha we drove the Huracán LP580-2 (rear-wheel drive), and we had the chance to fly to Oman to test drive the Spyder version of the LP580-2.
Lamborghini brought all their models to Oman – from the Huracán LP610-4 coupe and Spyder, to the Huracán LP580-2 coupe and Spyder.
When style meets performance, that’s where the new Huracán RWD Spyder comes in. The new Huracán RWD Spyder combines a new exterior design with the powerful Lamborghini V10 engine, able to unleash its power on the rear wheels. Every driving moment will turn into an adrenaline rush, and the sky above you can be all yours in just 17 seconds, thanks to an extremely lightweight soft top that embodies the finest Italian taste and handicraft.
The front and rear of the Huracán RWD Spyder have been redesigned, with its dynamic good looks accented by the large front air intakes that direct cooling air and headwinds to increase down pressure on the front axle. Pirelli PZero tires, exclusively developed for the rear-wheel drive Huracán, sit on 19-inch Kari rims. Specially contoured steel brakes with aluminum brake disc pots assist in weight reduction and improved cooling.
Inside, the sporty yet elegant interiors of the Huracán RWD Spyder were developed to provide both ample space and exceptional comfort. Every detail is designed to make the driving experience extremely engaging for all the occupants of the passenger compartment thanks to the highest quality and countless options, in terms of colors and finishes. The cockpit features the latest Lamborghini Infotainment System II with a 12.3-inch hi-res TFT instrument panel.
The Lamborghini Huracán RWD Spyder integrates the exclusive ANIMA (Adaptive Network Intelligent MAnagement) technology, which allows you to adapt the vehicle’s behavior to your driving needs. If you’re looking for thrills and fun while driving, then you will really appreciate the slight oversteering capabilities of the SPORT setting. On the other hand, the CORSA setting allows you to enjoy a racing-style drive. Finally the STRADA setting will provide a comfortable ride with maximum grip, while you enjoy the pleasure of traveling with the wind through your hair. The new Huracán RWD Spyder allows you to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 319 km/h.
Although in the past we tested all forms of the Huracán, we still enjoy driving them on and on. It is like an addictive feeling. When testing any supercar such as Ferrari or McLaren, you can still feel the difference from being on board a Lamborghini. The right quote for it might be: “It feels like I’m part of the Fast and the Furious movie!” The car rides very low to the ground, with quite high shoulders and a side body that partially hide the driver and passenger. The seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox is lightning-fast and easy to use on Oman highways.
Surely Lamborghini will steal some of its rivals’ customers. The question remains, where does your character fit in perfectly – in a Lambo, Ferrari or McLaren? It is surely a matter of choice. But, at this age, I am still attracted to the extreme raging bull design and driving dynamics.
