Chevrolet Middle East has announced that the eagerly anticipated 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray will take center-stage at the company’s stand during the upcoming 2019 Dubai International Motor Show this November. The all-new Corvette Stingray will be joined on-stand by the Silverado Trail Boss and the all-new Blazer alongside other exciting nameplates from Chevrolet’s refreshed line-up.
Kelly MacDonald, Chief Marketing Officer, General Motors Africa & Middle East, commented: “The Corvette is a performance icon and we are delighted to showcase the 2020 Stingray, an evolution of the nameplate that drives better than any vehicle in Corvette history. With its new mid-engine configuration, it is poised to blow away Corvette fans. The Dubai International Motor Show is the perfect opportunity for us to connect with passionate car enthusiasts from across the Middle East and demonstrate the engineering innovation that our latest line-up represents. We have a few more surprises up our sleeves for car lovers across the region, so stay tuned!”
First mid-engine Corvette ever
The 2020 Corvette Stingray is the sum of everything that came before it, re-imagined to bring customers new levels of performance, technology, craftsmanship and luxury. Thanks to the new mid-engine configuration, it features better weight distribution, with the rear weight bias enhancing performance in a straight line and on the track. As a result of the mid-ship layout, the 2020 Stingray is more responsive and affords a greater sense of control due to driver positioning closer to the front axle.
Expectedly, it is also the fastest accelerating Stingray as well with a 0-100 Km/h of under three seconds when equipped with Z51 Performance Package. Furthermore, the C8 Stingray has a race car-like view of the road due to lower positioning of the hood, instrument panel and steering wheel. However, the performance does not come at the cost of practicality – with two trunks, the 2020 Stingray boasts a total of 12.6 cubic feet of cargo volume, ideal for luggage or two sets of golf clubs.
Design wise, the 2020 Stingray’s mid-engine futuristic expression is dramatic and yet unmistakably Corvette. It boasts lean and muscular sheet metal, while the athletic design conveys a sense of motion and power from every angle.
Silverado Trail Boss and Blazer join the show
Joining the Corvette Stingray on the Chevrolet stand will be the mighty Silverado Trail Boss and the all-new Blazer sleek and evocative crossover, showcasing the breadth of the company’s line-up, offering cars to suit diverse customer needs.
The Silverado Trail Boss is available with a 5.3L V-8 engine mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission, giving it unprecedented capability. The 2019 Silverado Trail Boss is stronger, more capable and more aerodynamic than ever before to improve performance and comfort. Furthermore, it packs exceptional safety technology without compromising the Silverado’s legendary off-road performance and all-around versatility.
For urban warriors, Chevrolet will also showcase the all-new Blazer at the 2019 Dubai International Motor Show. Boasting head-turning design, the Blazer is the boldest and most progressive expression of the Chevrolet crossover design language yet with unrivalled utility through five-passenger seating and a Chevrolet-first cargo management system including a rail system and cargo fence.
