General Motors Africa and Middle East continues its commitment to diversity and inclusion with the announcement of the appointment of Farah Amhaz as the new Head of Brand for Chevrolet in the region, and Dalina Suriel as her successor as the new Head of Public Relations & Communications and Strategic Advisor. Underpinned by the knowledge that diverse perspectives and a dynamic team are at the heart of current and future business success, the appointments will also contribute to GM AMEO’s alignment with the UAE’s 2021 gender balance vision.
In her role, Amhaz will shape the Chevrolet brand, through the development and implementation of effective marketing strategies to optimize both brand and nameplate performance. Amhaz will also be responsible for expanding Chevrolet’s regional footprint, improving brand health and increasing profitability, while leading marketing teams and agencies.
Starting her career with GM as an intern in 2005, Amhaz has thrived, holding several positions in the business network. Having previously led the Public Relations and Communications teams across Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC, Amhaz already has extensive experience within the marketing ecosystem.
Congratulating Amhaz on her new role, Kelly MacDonald, Chief Marketing Officer General Motors Africa and Middle East said: “Farah is already an essential part of General Motors leadership and now brings a fresh perspective to the marketing team, promising to deliver fully localized campaigns across the full network of communications. With over 14 years’ experience at General Motors Middle East, Farah will build on Chevrolet’s legacy in the region, applying her solutions-driven approach and laser focus to this new challenge.”
Dalina Suriel, as the new Head of Public Relations & Communications and Strategic Advisor, succeeds Amhaz, leading the brands’ communication teams across the region. Responsible for strategizing and executing all communications across internal and external stakeholders including customers, dealers, government officials and partners, Suriel will also oversee PR and events agencies.
Suriel’s tremendous drive and ambition has propelled her through various leadership roles in the Global Purchasing and Supply Chain organization, most recently holding the position of Supply Chain Warehouse & Logistics Manager.
Congratulating Suriel on her new role, John Roth President and Managing Director, GM Africa and Middle East said: “Having been an indispensable part of the General Motors family for the last 13 years, Dalina will now bring her innovative thinking to the communications team. With a proven track record of delivering exceptional results in challenging circumstances, Dalina will now establish and lead General Motors strategy to all key stakeholders, both internal and external.”
