First and foremost, ArabWheels would like to wish every one of our readers the warmest seasonal holiday wishes. And as the end of the year is both a time for reflection and looking ahead, the December issue comes in a special compact run, covering the latest automotive items of the 2009 year combined with a twenty-brand comprehensive 2010 model year automotive guide, in occasion of the 2009 10th Dubai International Motor Show
This month, we highlight the car whose awesomeness has been shrouded by two very prominent competitors, the Dodge Challenger, an icon of the muscle car era; its reborn self has faced severe competition on the hand of the newly launched Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang. We already put the Camaro on our cover in the summer of 09 and now it’s the Challenger’s turn, and perhaps the Ford Mustang 2010 will do us the pleasure sometime in 2010, so stay tuned.
While on a working trip to Dubai, one of our loyal contributors had the pleasure of commuting in what can be described as one of the most respected cars on the very expensive end of the spectrum, the Aston Martin DBS. Check out his report on what had been a dream come true as he takes the reigns on 510 of V12 horsepower. He also had time to downsize and spent some time in the equally attractive, albeit more accessible and logical Volkswagen Scirocco, and let the 30+ year heritage wash over him
On a less hands on approach, we review the all new 2010 Cadillac SRX, a vehicle that is set to put the Cadillac description back into perspective as it finds its way to the top of its market sector. We also look into the future with the quirky Renault Twizzy Concept.
And as a special feature(s), we look at the color preferences for the year and what each car color choice says about us, thanks to a couple of psychology doctors made available by DuPont, the world’s reference in automotive paint. As well, BMW has been speaking ever so loudly about its sustainability program named ‘Efficient Dynamics’ and we take a closer look at the subject, so indulge in it if you want to get an idea of where economical technologies are heading in the mid-term.
And finally, you can check out the Dubai Motor Show brief Preview about some of the vehicles that will be on display at the Dubai World Trade Center. This was the last update by the time the piece was written so forgive any foresight as to what actually might be at the show. In other words, do your best to be there as it’s shaping up to be a promising week of automotive glitz.
